Assertiveness Training - Learning Your Needs and Expressing them in a positive, constructive way

Duration: This course runs for 2 hours one night a week for 6 weeks.

Session 1: What is Assertiveness? Knowing our rights. Exploring different types of behaviour.

Session 2: Saying No. Dealing with requests or demands. Exploring blocks to assertive behaviour. Why it is difficult to say no?

Session 3: Dealing with abuse and criticism. Bulling in the work place. Exploring ways one may feel put down or criticism. Exploring ways of dealing with criticisms.

Session 4: Giving constructive criticism. Guidelines for delivering constructive criticism. Introduction to meditation.

Session 5: Encouragement and Assertiveness. Exploring ways of reacting to compliments. Guidelines for giving and receiving compliment.

Session 6: Assertive Skills. Ways of relaxing. Evaluation.
